AT&T to spend $1 billion rebranding

That’s the price tag to go from SBC to at&t–and it all kicks off today.  Sad part is, I don’t know anyone who is a customer of SBC that actually loves their service.  So they’re spending a billion dollars to launch a new brand AND supplement their complete and utter lack of any word-of-mouth support.

Can’t help but think, like Scoble suggests, that the money would be better spent on improving their services.  Maybe then, their customers would do their marketing for them–like Apple, Google, Netflix, Starbucks, etc.

Oh well…I’ve beat my head against the wall long enough on this one.  New Year’s Resolution #1 — to just start laughing at the at&t rebranding cash burn, instead of letting its gluttonous waste irritate me further.
