Stagecoach goes live…

Stagecoach Festival

After a couple months worth of hard work, the Stagecoach Festival site finally went live, coinciding nicely with the L.A. Times coverage of the May 5 & 6 festival this morning.

For those of you who haven’t heard, Stagecoach is basically “country Coachella” — multiple stages, same location (Empire Polo Fields in Indio), just swapping out indie bands and alt-rock reunions for country music.

I know, at first that might sound a little scary to any of you country musicphobes out there. But the Goldenvoice folks have done a fantastic job of booking this one and creating an event with appeal to a wide range of concertgoers, creating a variety that includes “big” country acts (Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney), legends (George Strait, Emmylou Harris, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson) and younger, alt-country acts (Neko Case, Lucinda Williams) and all sorts of different country subsets I didn’t even know existed. They even threw Garrison Keillor for good measure.

Go stop by stagecoachfestival.com and check it all out. Tickets go on sale in a few days. And when I get time…in a later post, I’ll detail all the stuff going on under the hood, built utilizing Pinacol’s awesome Framework. For now, there’s still work to be done…
