Ads vs. Reality in Fast Food

April 19, 2007

Say what you will about Super Size Me and Fast Food Nation — this side-by-side comparison of advertising photos vs. real” food” from fast food joints has done more in 5 minutes to dissuade me from eating at McDonalds, Burger King, or any of their ilk than Morgan Spurlock or Eric Schlosser ever could.

Simpsons Movie Mania: 7-11s to become Kwik-E-Marts

March 27, 2007

Get ready for Simpsons fever, which is going to sweep the nation this summer, in anticipation/promotion of the long-awaited Simpsons Movie:
If all goes as planned, the convenience store chain plans to refit 11 stores across the U.S. — Richmond is an unlikely choice — to resemble the front of the Kwik-E-Mart, the convenience store that [...]

Mini’s Multi-site Banner ADventure

November 5, 2006

Hopefully I’ve captured the essence [...]

McDonalds Apparently Loves Traffic-Related Fatalities

September 15, 2006

I get the basic idea — there’s an accident, might as well pull off for coffee.  But this just comes off as "this traffic accident, brought to you by McDonalds".  Which, if you try to drive and eat your Egg McMuffin, might very well wind up being the truth.
Mmm…I’m lovin’ it.

Carpeteria keeps it exciting

June 6, 2006

When you’re shopping for budget carpet, I guess you can’t ask for any frills, especially in the naming department:

Honestly, who came up with ‘Boot Camp’ and thought it would move carpet?  Does anyone come in and say "oh yeah, this is nice….I’ll take wall-to-wall Boot Camp!", outside of those seeking apholstery for their boot camp?  [...]

Wes Anderson doesn’t leave home without it

April 28, 2006

It’s really kind of a shame to watch anything Wes Anderson shot in bandwidth-optimized low-res Flash video, but this commercial debuted last night, and is too awesome for me to not try and share with all.
NOTE: I would gladly link directly to American Express’s My Life, My Card site, or even embed THEIR code into [...]

April 26, 2006

Well say hello to the Reno Tahoe Airport website:

First off — you have to feel for the guy who had to pose for this photo.  I’m sure he was paid well for his time, and fortunately for him no one probably visits this site….but can you imagine if YOU posed for this photo, and all [...]
