Sad/confusing news from L.A. about the death of a relatively-young producer:
Film producer Gregg Hoffman, who developed an eight-minute film into the horror hit "Saw" and its gory successor "Saw II," died unexpectedly after complaining of pain. He was 42.

Wish you could have attended the Emmys?  Paul Davidson went, survived, and today gives the lowdown, from pre-parties to the main event and Governor’s Ball at the Shrine.  Conclusion: It almost sounds worth it, if they gave you the gift bag’s value in cold hard cash.

Somehow, even though I’m reading it, I still can’t believe that Chris Rock is going to host the 2005 Academy Awards. I’m stoked–beats the hell out of Whoopi or Billy Crystal–but somehow I just can’t imagine it…..seems like quite a few monacles will drop into martini glasses on that Sunday night in Los Angeles.

What was once a rather lonely blogscape (barf–did I just coin that phrase–I pray not) here in Los Angeles is turning into quite the festive little party. (Shocker–an L.A. party that took forever to get going, that NEVER happens)
